Our commitment to social responsibility

OUR PRODUCTS

At rewthink, we only use timber sourced from sustainably managed forests in North America and Europe.

These forests and their supply chains are kept in accordance with national laws and internationally recognised certification schemes such as FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification).

Our timber products are finished with an eco-friendly plant-based wax oil, made from natural ingredients that contain very low levels of VOCs (volatile organic compounds).

Many of our designs incorporate a sustainable paper composite made from

FSC-certified recycled paper and natural resin that emits no VOCs. Any offcuts are returned to the manufacturer for reprocessing.

Our product packaging is made from renewable materials.

OUR WASTE

We work hard to minimise waste in the workshop. Any timber offcuts are donated to our local Shed Project, supporting their mission to foster creativity, connection, and community. In the past, we’ve also donated surplus hardware and tools.

More recently, we’ve shared high-quality offcuts with local weavers and other craft initiatives. Any remaining timber is used as firewood.

OUR EMPLOYEES

We are proud to be a Living Wage Employer, offering a fair starting wage to all new team members — as well as opportunities for progression and development as part of our commitment to long-term, rewarding employment.

OUR COMMUNITY

We believe in giving back. From supporting local schools with items for fundraisers, to crafting plaques for a nearby scout group, we’re always looking for ways to contribute.

Most recently, we supported a park regeneration project by designing, making, and installing four benches — a full team effort by the rewthink crew. We also prioritize working with local and small businesses whenever possible.

OUR FELLOW MAKERS

As proud members of ACID (Anti Copying in Design), we stand for the protection of intellectual property — both ours and that of our fellow creatives.

ALWAYS MORE TO DO

We are proud to put as much thought into our social and environmental impact as we do our design and craftsmanship. But we know the journey doesn’t end here — there’s always more to more to do.

If you’d like more detail about our social initiatives — or if you have any ideas for how we might work together to improve sustainability or reduce our environmental footprint — we’d love to hear from you.
